New Rules for 2026: Apply for Two Posts!
In a historic change to the selection process, the Indian Army has reportedly introduced a “Dual Application” feature for the 2026 cycle.
What does this mean?
In previous years, candidates could strictly apply for only one trade (e.g., only GD or only Technical). If you failed the merit list for that one trade, you were out.
- The Change: Now, candidates can apply for two different categories within the same application form, provided they meet the eligibility criteria for both.
- The Benefit: This doubles your chances of selection. For example, if you have Physics, Chemistry, and Maths (PCM) in Class 12, you might be able to apply for both Agniveer Technical and Agniveer GD.
Note for Clerks: A typing test is now mandatory for the Agniveer Clerk / Store Keeper Technical posts. You must practice typing in English and Hindi to clear this stage.
Big Update: 50% Quota in CAPFs (BSF, CISF, CRPF)
The first batch of Agniveers (recruited in 2022) is set to complete their 4-year term in 2026. As they prepare to exit, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has made significant moves to secure their future.
While the official “Seva Nidhi” package (approx ₹11-12 Lakh) was always confirmed, new reports indicate that the government is finalizing a plan to absorb up to 50% of Ex-Agniveers into Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).
Why is this important?
- Job Security: Earlier, the reservation was set at 10%. Increasing this quota means thousands of trained Agniveers will directly join forces like the CISF, BSF, and CRPF without worrying about unemployment.
- No Physical Test: Ex-Agniveers joining CAPFs will not have to undergo the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) again. They will also get age relaxation (up to 5 years for the first batch).
